A brief look at some of the lifeline ferry services which operate in the waters of British Columbia - a province which only joined Canada after promises to build a railway across the Rockies. It seems that those who were to resource the deal hadn't realised that the capital of BC was on an Island ... so the railways had to provide the ferries and there is still a freight train ferry running today.
